At GeoGuessr, the Business function is responsible for the company’s financial operations and commercial strategy, with a focus on maximizing growth and profitability. This includes owning the company’s business KPIs and providing analytical support to the rest of the organization.

Expectations on the role

• The Insights Lead will report to and work closely with the Chief Business Officer to define and track the company’s success metrics

• The role will lead a small central Insights team, focusing on business and product analytics

• The employee is expected to work independently with data analysis, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders (esp. the management team)

• The employee will collaborate across multiple cross-functional product teams, e.g. to identify critical improvement areas and track progress

Core tasks, activities, projects

• Help define the company’s success metrics, aligning with the company’s long term vision and growth ambition

• Establish and enforcing data quality standards, governance, and availability

• Support management and product teams with data analytics, translated into concrete recommendations

• Work closely with data engineering team to define and implement centralized KPIs in standardized reports and dashboards, and ensure correct usage

Requirements (previous experience)

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science. A Business education in addition is a big plus

• 5+ years of professional experience from business analytics, preferably at gaming/SaaS or other growth/tech company

• Proficiency in SQL (preferably with dbt), Python/R, advanced data modeling, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience from working with a modern data stack and leading BI tools (e.g. Looker, PowerBI)

• Experience in data science, machine learning or AI/conversational analytics is an advantage

Requirements (personal traits)

• Strong problem solver, able to independently and quickly deliver analyses of high quality

• Self-driven, hard working and reliable, able to plan and prioritize own work as well as lead and collaborate well with others

• Strong business acumen and understanding of finance, with experience from financial modeling and a deep understanding of SaaS metrics

• Excellent communicator, written and verbal, in English and/or Swedish and ability to influence stakeholders
